root-directory is an option that can be specified in a project section of the ConfigurationFile, and defaults to the current directory (the UNIX pwd).

It is the base filesystem path under which tailor will keep all the stuff related to the project, that is the StateFile, the ProjectLog? and either the SharedWorkingDirectory or the two DisjunctWorkingDirectories.
